Rich River Rod and Custom Inc

The Rich River Rod and Custom Club Inc. was formed as a result of a meeting held to gauge local interest in Hot Rodding in the Echuca-Moama area during 1988 and has been operating continuously since then.

The aim of the club is to promote the building, safe use and enjoyment of street rods, custom cars and other cars of interest. Membership is open to any person, over the age of eighteen years, who has an interest in street rods, custom cars or other cars of interest.

Members are expected to be active in club activities and to attend club events when family and work commitments permit. The club holds monthly club meetings (usually at member's homes), organises club outings and events and members often attend other club's Rod Runs and ASRF sanctioned events.

The club’s major event is the Rich River Rod Run which is held in March every second year (in even years) and attracts entrants from all over Australia. In recent years, the club has raised funds for a Foetal Heart Monitor for the Children’s Ward and also completed a commitment to raise $5000 for the “Make Your Mark” appeal to furnish the new Echuca Hospital.

Since 2014, the club has conducted regular Engineering Information Nights to promote the safe construction and correct registration of street rods. These sessions regularly attract a crowd of over 100 people including both members and interested members of the public.

There are currently 43 members of the club, including ten Life Members, who reside in or near Echuca, Moama, Deniliquin, Rochester and Kyabram.

The Rich River Rod Run

The 2024 Rich River Rod Run will be held from Friday 15/03/24 to Sunday 17/03/24 in the Echuca Moama area.

The Rich River Rod Run is held in March every second year (in even years) and attracts entrants from all over Australia.

In 2024 the Rod Run will celebrate its thirty-fourth year, making it one of the longest running events of its type in Victoria. The event itself has maintained solid support from hot rodders, despite the difficulties of Covid, and the number of entrants continues to grow steadily.

Our entrants reported that they were very happy with the modernised program of the 2022 event and we trust that our 2024 Rod Run will be similarly well supported.
